August/2017. We are delighted to learn that Bindu has been recognised with the prestigious AIHS Studentship. This is an exceptionally competitive award from Alberta Innovates Health Sciences (230 Applicants, 17 awardees in 2017 competition). The award recognizes Bindu’s academic (great GPA) and scholarly (great research) achievements. Bindu has sustained a robust publication record in her career, which was a strong factor for this award. Bindu will be co-mentored by Dr. Afsaneh Lavasanifar and Dr. Larry Unsworth in her professional development. Bindu has been designing functional particles to deliver specific siRNAs to treat cancers, in particular breast cancers. Watch out for her unique studies involving co-delivery of DNA and RNA based gene medicines in the fight against breast cancer.
