September/2011 – Welcome to Yufu Wang, visiting graduate student from Harbin Medical University (China).  Yufu will spend ~1 year at the Uludag Lab, learning about non-viral gene tarnsfer to bone marrow stromal cells. Yufu will explore the feasibility of transfecting human bone marrow stromal cells with BMP expression vectors and look at the effects of inflammatory/immune reactions on transfection efficiency. We are expecting a unique insight on the difficulty of transfecting primary cells as a result of these studies.
